Founding Story

Sarah Hamilton, CMT, CLT, CMLDT, ALM, has spent more than a decade helping clients heal through advanced lymphatic therapy, post-surgical recovery, and functional movement. After years of studio-based massage work in Napa and extensive training in MLD, lymphedema care, Pilates, and yoga, she founded Wine Country Movement to bridge the gap between medical recovery and holistic wellness.

Drawing from thousands of hours supporting clients through cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries, cancer treatment, orthopedic procedures, and chronic swelling conditions, Sarah built a practice focused on reducing inflammation, restoring mobility, and improving long-term well-being. Her integrated approach—combining lymphatic massage, targeted therapeutic bodywork, and restorative movement—became the foundation of the studio.

Today, Sarah leads a team of highly trained therapists with more than 59 years of collective experience. Together, they provide compassionate, results-driven care rooted in advanced lymphatic management and mindful movement, helping clients feel supported, informed, and at home in their bodies.

Barbara Burgess

CAMTC, CMLDT, CMT

I began my massage therapy career in 2003 at De Anza College in Cupertino, CA, completing 588 hours of training led by experienced doctors and occupational therapists. I went on to complete 200 hours of acupressure for pain management at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley (now part of the McKinnon Institute in Oakland), where I also earned my certification in Hot Stone Massage. My continued training includes Positional Release Technique (PRT), 50 hours of Beginning CranioSacral Therapy (CST) with Kim Dines, PT, and a Level 1 course taught by Dr. John Upledger. I also studied Pre, Peri, and Postnatal Massage with the “guru” herself, Carole Osborne-Sheets, a true pioneer in the field. In practice, I incorporate Isotonic/Isometric techniques, contract-relax methods, PNF, and manual stretching. Most recently, I completed Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) training online and in person with Sarah, focusing on non-acute MLD therapy needs through Wine Country Movement.

Beth Bowlin

Yoga Instructor Beth Bowlin delighted in a lifetime of competitive movement and performance beginning with Ballet at age 4, then adding Tae Kwon Do to her repertoire at 16. On invitation of a school friend and fellow ballerina turned yogini, Beth’s Yoga journey began in 2006. This shiny new endeavor gave her a place to further cultivate strength, balance, and flexibility, accompanied by a deeper sense of inner peace. She began instructor training the following year and has been honored to work with such luminaries as Donna Helms-Yost, Andrew Eppler, Judith Hirt, and Bryan Legere, blending complimentary traditions of Vinyasa, Yin, and Restorative Yoga lineages. Born in Southern Illinois and raised in Southeast Missouri, Beth is a Certified Sommelier and has called Yountville home since 2012. There isn’t a moment she isn’t grateful.
